The power behind your music.

The NAP 300 DR power amplifier incorporates all the advances pioneered by its siblings and adopts the radical two-box configuration of its bigger brother, the NAP 500: one box houses the amplification circuitry, while another – the 300 PS – hosts the power supply components.

NAP 300 DR

It also features the new high-calibre Naim Audio NA009 transistors developed for the 500 Series.

The NAP 300DR delivers 90W per channel into 8 ohms and is capable of prolonged output into 2 ohms with no discernible impact on performance.

The result is both superior purity of tone and immense power.

New Statement Technology

Their flagship Statement amplification system was ten years in the making. The research and development project drew on all of our knowledge and expertise, yielding several breakthroughs in technology.

Naim have recently introduced two new technologies from the Statement project to their core range of power amplifiers.

The NAP 300 DR now features the new NA009 transistors first introduced in Statement.

In development for over a year, this key component was created in partnership with a specialist semi-conductor manufacturer to achieve the best possible sound quality.

The 300 also includes the high power Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) technology used in Statement to provide the smooth, stable power supply they know is critical for the audio electronics to make music come to life.

These two new technologies, combined with other small improvements to layout and componentry, mean the NAP 300 DR can produce even more of the fundamental musical pace, rhythm and timing that made the originals so popular with music lovers.

Features NAP 300 DR

  • 90W per channel output into 8 ohms; capable of prolonged output into 2 ohms with no discernible impact on performance
  • Two-box configuration (300 PS power supply included) minimises electromagnetic interference
  • High-power Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) technology and NA009 output transistors as used in flagship Statement NAP S1 power amplifier

Technology & Craft

The Naim Audio NAP 300 DR delivers immense power without sacrificing any speed or agility to provide awe-inspiring levels of detail and musicality.

Like the flagship Naim Audio NAP 500, the NAP 300 DR is a stereo two-chassis amplifier, one box containing the audio amplifier and the second housing the power supply.

Improved earthing arrangements have resulted in an entirely new circuit topology built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board.

The NAP 300 DR uses the same NA009 transistors that were custom-designed for the Statement NAP S1.

These outstanding components each provide up to 80 Amps and 350 watts, negating the need to use parallel pairs of transistors (which always has a negative effect on sound).

Additional NA009 transistors are used in the fully regulated power supply, ensuring the very best performance.

A variable speed, virtually noiseless cooling fan is mounted on a large internal heat sink providing long-term stability and the ability to swing a massive 500 VA on transients.

The NAP 300 DR is stable into any load and able to drive a 2-Ohm load for long periods of time.

Naim Audio

Naim Audio Their story begins with one man’s passion for music and weaves its way through four decades and a raft of iconic product launches to the present day. Naim Audio founder Julian Vereker MBE (1945-2000) was a racing car driver, entrepreneur and self-taught engineer with a deep passion for music. Spending his spare time listening to and recording his friends playing live in the 1960s, Julian found that playback on his system at home fell woefully short of the experience he craved. Not content with second best he decided to design his own amplifiers and loudspeakers, ignoring accepted wisdom and focusing on aspects of performance that made music burst to life. These first designs laid the foundations for a range of iconic and award-winning hi-fi products that would reach well into the next century. 1972 A first start at Capital Radio Julian won a contract to supply then start-up radio station, Capital Radio, with audio equipment. The successful design was a compact version of an early Naim Audio power amplifier combined with speaker drive units in one cabinet – the NAM 502 1973 Naim Audio Officially Founded Following the success of Capital Radio, Naim Audio was officially incorporated in 1973 with Julian Vereker and his co-founder Shirley Clarke as directors. Based in a shop in the centre of Salisbury, our first HQ had both manufacturing and demonstration facilities. 1973 The NAP 200 Power Amplifier Naim Audio's first consumer product for home use was launched in the year of our founding: the NAP 200 power amplifier. Originally designed in 1971, its descendant’s power amplifiers differ greatly technologically but still aim for the same performance goals of pace, rhythm and timing 1974 The NAC 12 Preamplifier With a network of dedicated independent retailers now on board in the UK, the NAC 12, our first production preamplifier, was launched. 1980 Classic Advertising As Naim Audio grew in popularity through the 70s and early 80s, the team decided to grab the attention of the press and public with a series of tongue-in-cheek adverts. They reflected the confident, often unorthodox nature of our approach to music playback and have become iconic in their own right. 1983 NAIT Integrated Amplifier Naim Audio’s first integrated amplifier the NAIT introduced. This iconic little integrated amp sounded quite unlike any other integrated of its day and set a trend for so-called ‘super integrateds 1985 The Queen's Award Naim Audio is recognised with the prestigious Queen’s Award for the first time in 1985. We would go on to repeat this achievement a further two times in the 21st century, winning for Export in 2010 and for Innovation in digital music streaming in 2014. 1991 The CDS CD Player Like so many Naim Audio products, the design of our first CD player, the CDS, flew in the face of conventional wisdom. Its Two-box configuration gave the power supply its own separate enclosure and the CD clamp used a rare earth magnet to keep its mass low whilst still firmly holding the disc without vibration 2000 NAP 500 Power Amplifier The year 2000 marked a step change in Naim Audio history. After several years in development, the new flagship Naim Audio NAP 500 power amplifier was born and with it the new industrial design aesthetic that would redefine Naim Audio for the 21st century. Its music-making ability would only be bettered by the arrival of Statement in 2014.
