Luxman L-505Z

Luxman amplifier

LUXMAN proudly announce the launch of their latest integrated amplifier model, the L-505Z.

The L-505Z features a complete redesign of their ODNF*1 system at the core of many of their amplifier concepts, seen in their best-selling L-505uXll released in 2017, and has finally joined their Z generation product line.

Following the L-507Z and L-509Z, this is the latest integrated amplifier equipped with their high-quality amplification feedback engine,”LIFES*2″, which plays a big part in all their next generation amplifier designs.

LIFES, seen here in a robust power amplifier stage that supports a high-power output of 150W+150W (4Ω), is bespoke technology that allows you to atain that natural sound quality of non-feedback circuitry.

Based on this philosophy, the entire system has been simply rebuilt from scratch.

Luxman L-505Z

This is LUXMAN core circuitry designed with all their heartfelt passion and with glorious sound in mind as they look forward to LUXMAN’s 100th anniversary in 2025.

The independent preamplifier stage has discrete buffer circuitry, featuring the latest components carefully selected for sound quality, and a built-in phono amplifier with a paralleled first stage and upgraded specifications worthy of their higher-end models.

You can blissfully enjoy authentic analogue record playback by switching the MM/MC selections according to your desired cartridge and tastes.

The volume control section is proudly fitted with their unique electronically controlled LECUA*3 system, which is a solid-state, 88-step

attenuator, allowing the listener detailed volume adjustment to suit the playback situation.

In terms of functionality, like other Z generation models, volume level is displayed using 7-segment LEDs centered in between the large needle-type analogue level meters.

A new φ4.4mm headphone output with independent ground wiring for left and right channel is also provided.

There are also trigger input/output terminals and external control terminals that enable power syncing with compatible audio equipment.

Features and specifications that are useful in many different situations when listening to great music bring you closer to perfection.

After six and a half years, Luxman feel the L-505Z will satisfy the most avid music lovers requiring the highest sound quality borne on the

latest circuit technology with utility performance that enhances the musical experience.

Mechanicals / Accessories

– Independent construction shuts out increases in ground impedance due to chassis current

– Loopless chassis structure

– 18mm pitch RCA input/output terminals compatible with high-quality cables equipped with large plugs

-In-line terminal layout makes it easy to connect extra-thick cables, Y lug and banana plugs (same characteristics as LR) Speaker terminal layout (A, B 2 systems)

– In addition to a Φ6.3mm standard headphone terminal a new independent Φ4.4mm terminal has independent grounding greatly improving LR separation.

– AC inlet has adjustable mounting direction changeable to support the weight of a heavy AC cable across the terminal.

– Coordination of remote control signals between compatible devices allows for remote control by other wireless devices in the future. New control input/output terminal (Φ3.5mm monaural jack) to expand compatibility

– Equipped with new trigger input/output terminals enabling power syncing between compatible devices (Φ3.5mm monaural jack/daisy chain also possible)

– High-quality aluminum RA-17A remote control that can also operate a CD player. (Compatible with the majority of Luxman CD (SACD) players released after 1996)

Design / Exterior

– White, LED-lit, needle-type analog meters that smoothly follow the dynamics of musical signals

– 7-segment LEDs create a highly visible volume level display centrally located between the large level meters

Electronics / Functions

Electronics / Functions

– Equipped with LUXMAN’s new and unique LIFES 1.0 amplifier feedback engine, replacing ODNF in the power amplifier section

– High power (150W x 2 (4Ω) rated) outputs with triple-paralleled Darlington push-pull configuration

– El type (540VA) highly regulated power transformer and large filter capacitors (10,000uF x 4) yeild a highly stable power supply

– Low resistance values and parallel configuration supports high speaker drivability with large capacity speaker relays

– Phono equaliser with MM/MC inputs and paralleled first stage, realising even higher grade analog record playback

– Electronically controlled Bass/Treble tone controls and LECUA controlled LR balance adjustment function

– Pre-power separation function enables bi-amp configuration with an additional power amplifier or interactive AV system

– High quality selector switch ICs that improve left and right separation and crosstalk performance

– Beeline construction that confines the transmitted audio signal to the optimal shortest signal path

– Non-angled circuit board traces for smooth signal current transmission

– Spiral wrapping for each core of our unique, non-plated OFC wiring achieves even better, natural signal transmission

Brand

Luxman

The history of the LUXMAN audio brand began in 1925, at the birth of radio broadcasting. LUXMAN has paid particular attention to the world of audio and has gained high reputation as a quality brand of high-end audio products both domestically and internationally. People tend to open their mind to natural things and react negatively to the unnatural. Natural sound, without coloration, develops an intimacy between the music and the listener. Naturally and purely reproduced music resonates with the listener’s imagination. LUXMAN reflects this effect in our product development. Music that features a performer's true passion and which a recording engineer has worked on precisely benefits from the fine nuances in sound which LUXMAN aims to reproduce, conveying the sprit of the artist and the enthusiasm of the performance. They strive to bring to the listener the experience of unlimited, pure music. Composers, performers and recording engineers have poured their true feelings into our favorite pieces of music. LUXMAN would be satisfied if the listener could experience those same passions through our products. LUXMAN has celebrated its 90th anniversary and hopes to discover new excitement through wonderful music and to continue to share that pleasure with everyone.
