Magico ACC

Multi-channel soundtracks for movies and music include a dedicated center channel track of information that can range from subtle to explosive in a split second.

In order to properly reproduce these dynamic swings of micro and macro information, a full range center channel loudspeaker that matches the speed and integrity of the front L/R loudspeakers is imperative.

The Magico ACC features a sealed, fully braced aluminum enclosure, beryllium dome tweeter, carbon Nanographene cones, neodymium-based motor systems and their renowned elliptical crossover.

A true Magico loudspeaker design offering unparalleled sound performance in its category and price point and above all deserving of the Magico “M” engraving – a mark of their uncompromising drive to push the boundaries of loudspeaker technology.

In combination with their full-range A3 & A5, A1 two-way and the ASUB, all applications for a full Magico home theater are now accessible to a larger audience than ever before.

The Magico ACC enclosure is constructed using ⅜” thick 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum, similarly to the enclosure developed for the Q1 and is available in an elegant brushed, black-anodised aluminum finish.

An innovative internal bracing technique along with the most advanced damping materials makes the sealed enclosure incredibly rigid and free of unwanted mechanical resonances.

The finished enclosure design of the ACC is evaluated in simulation using the latest FEA software along with physical testing to meet the no-compromise requirements of Magico for optimised enclosure rigidity, stability and to ensure benchmark acoustical standards.

The ACC shares its driver complement with the A3: 28mm Beryllium tweeter, 6” midrange and 2x 7” bass woofers; utilising cones formulated with Multi-Wall carbon fiber and a layer of XG Nanographene, which provides an optimal stiffness to weight ratio with ideal damping properties.

Overhung neodymium motor systems ensure stabilised magnetic fields in the pure titanium voice coils.

The drivers in the ACC are acoustically integrated using Magico’s proprietary Elliptical Symmetry Crossover topology that utilises state-of-the-art components from Mundorf of Germany.

The dividing network features a 24db per octave Linkwitz-Riley filter that maximises frequency bandwidth while preserving phase linearity and minimizing intermodulation distortion.

Magico Located in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. The new 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art campus in Hayward, CA. Magico employs highly trained craftsmen, technicians and machinists. These employees are highly specialised and dedicated to their specific craft, allowing them the capabilities of translating ideas and concepts into designs as well as fabricating prototypes, and manufacturing the whole product without outsourcing. The assembly area within the new campus. A considerably larger area with better work station layout dramatically improves work flow. Coupled with modern infrastructure, this optimises efficiency and improves quality control of all their products.

Resonances in the body of a musical instrument are an essential part of defining its nature and quality.

The opposite is true of a loudspeaker.

Cabinet panel resonances are a significant cause of sound coloration.

Heavy bracing of a typical MDF enclosure can help reduce enclosure flex but at the cost of increased energy storage and damping factor.

Although a welcome attribute for midrange outout, over damping is detrimental to bass performance (high energy storage, low wide Q and low resonances).

MAGICO has spent many years developing an enclosure system that successfully balances the 3 elements that constitute a proper loudspeaker enclosure: stiffness, mass, and internal damping.

Having pioneered the use of aluminum in loudspeakers design. They built their first aluminum enclosure back in 1994 and have never looked back. Extremely stiff yet easy to damp, a properly designed aluminum enclosure is the ideal platform for high-performance loudspeakers. So inert, the enclosures have no discernible coloration of their own-allowing the drivers to operate with the utmost clarity and dynamics. Though costly to implement, the use of aluminum in their enclosures plays a vital role in design philosophy.
