We were approached to tender for a bespoke AV solution for an eclectic bar in London W2 now known as Tom & Dicks. The building has been a bar for over 150 years, having seen lots of changes and facelifts. The last owners left the building in a dilapidated
The budget was more Hollywood than art flic, the ground floor hints at this, with chairs made from Sky blue and yellow ostrich. But it is upstairs where the real treasure lie. If you are an antiques buff, the authentic British art deco furniture might make you swoon.
Even if you’re unmoved by the 1920’s Epstein chairs, which cost well over £1000 each. The Silk room will take you’re breath away with its hand painted silk wallpaper, a 1920’s dining table, crystal chandelier, and a shimmering curtain of strung mirror tiles, it looks more like a room in a palace than a room in a pub.
Even with all its antiques, this bar is no museum piece. Over 4 miles of cables run through the building, linking our Amplifiers to speakers, and Screens to DVD player’s.
Films are shown on Sunday afternoons.
In the evenings the bars resident DJ gets to work.
Many hours were spent designing, commissioning and installing the equipment.
