Sony’s new 4K projectors

The 4K video projector scene continues to hot up with the imminent release of a trio of new Sony SRXD native 4K models.

Topping the new line-up is the VPL-VW870ES, a laser light engine model rated at 2,200 lumens, with an All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) 18-piece all glass lens to ensure clarity into the corners of the image.

The addition of a Digital Focus Optimiser “provides refined image quality and accurate focus without distortion.”

It’s joined by the VPL-VW570ES, an 1,800 lumens lamp-based model, with Picture Position Memory to change the settings for 16:9 and Cinemascope, and the VPL-VW270ES, an entry-level beamer (pictured below).

All three come with improved 4K Motionflow, dynamic iris, HDR10 support and demand for 4K/60p inputs.

Both the VPL-VW570ES and the VPL-VW270ES come in black and white colours and combine a compact size with 2.06 zoom and wide lens shift.

“All three of our new models feature a new input lag reduction mode which dramatically improves the performance of the display reaction speed to ensure gamers can enjoy the best possible experience alongside the breathtakingly detailed image quality they have come to expect.”

The VPL-VW570ES £7999.00 and the VPL-VW270ES £4999.00 are available now, the VPL-VW870ES £24999.00 available in November
