Blizzard XTRM C19

Upgrade a wide range of audio/video components, constant- and variable-current alike, with AudioQuest’s Blizzard XTRM 3-pole AC power cable. Blizzard XTRM features True Concentric Perfect-Surface Plus (PSC+) conductors that have been carefully controlled for directionality to efficiently drain RF noise. ZERO-Tech ensures uncompressed current transfer while RF/ND-Tech minimises circuit misbehaviour by cancelling induced RF noise for quiet backgrounds and thrilling dynamics. Blizzard adds AudioQuest’s patented 72v Dielectric-Bias System, which further reduces radio-frequency noise.

Description

High-Purity True-Concentric PSC+ Conductors
Blizzard uses only our very purest copper: 100% Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+). Both superior metal and conductor geometry greatly reduce ear-fatiguing Transient Intermodulation (TIM) Distortion.

ZERO-Tech
While many AC power cables feature low DC resistance in order to accommodate the demand for high current, a cable’s characteristic impedance is also crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that constrict or compress an audio-provoked transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and ZERO (no) characteristic impedance in order to deliver uncompressed high-current transients on demand.

RF/ND-Tech
AC Ground wires may provide protection from an electrical short circuit, but they also act as an antenna. Thus, they are subject to induced radio-frequency (RF) noise. This RF noise bypasses component power supplies and is typically coupled directly into a system’s most sensitive audio/video circuits. AudioQuest’s RF/ND-Tech greatly reduces this distortion, yielding unprecedented levels of Noise-Dissipation across the widest bandwidth (range) of radio frequencies possible. Our unique circuit topology uses a common-mode phase-cancelling array, in concert with proprietary dielectric materials which provide additional differential linear filtering. US Patent # 8,988,168.

72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)
Insulation is also a dielectric that can act like a shunt-filter. Biasing minimises dielectric-noise and linearises the filter, significantly improving wide-bandwidth dissipation of induced RF noise.

Directionality
All drawn metal strands or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so that noise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. The correct direction is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest audio cable. When applicable, arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior sound quality. For most models of AQ cable, the arrows not only indicate the direction that optimises metal-directionality as part of Noise-Dissipation, but also indicates non-symmetrical attachment of shield and GND in order to optimise full-system performance.

Wind XTRM Plugs
Cold-welded hanging-silver over red and beryllium coppers

  • Perfect-Surface Copper+ Conductors: The astonishingly smooth and pure Perfect-Surface processed conductors minimise distortion caused by grain boundaries and surface discontinuities that exist in any metal conductor. Superior metal greatly reduces ear-fatiguing distortion for a more enjoyable listening experience.
  • True Concentric Conductor Geometry: While Semi-Solid Concentric conductors use fewer, larger strands that do not change position along the length of a cable, True-Concentric conductors push this concept even further, spiraling each successive layer of strands in the direction opposite to the one beneath it. Because this arrangement places more contact pressure at the points of contact, rather than lines of contact, the overall strand interaction distortion is meaningfully reduced.
  • ZERO-Tech for Uncompressed Current Transfer: While many AC power cables feature low DC resistance in order to accommodate the demand for high current, a cable’s characteristic impedance is also crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that constrict or compress an audio-provoked transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero (no) characteristic impedance in order to deliver uncompressed transients on demand.
  • Hanging-Silver over Red and Beryllium Copper Plugs: AudioQuest’s best AC plugs, built from the company’s flagship Storm Series components, enable even lower distortion and better dissipation of high-frequency noise than the high-quality molded plugs used for the Wind Series’ stock models.
  • Direction-Controlled Conductors: All drawn metal strands or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so that noise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. A fundamental aspect of AudioQuest’s multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology, Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.
  • Enhanced Audio Experience: Blizzard enables high-quality sound for a superior entertainment experience.
  • Uncompressed Current Delivery: Minimizes interference for quiet backgrounds and thrilling dynamics.
  • High-Quality Materials and Design: High-purity conductor metal and noise-dissipation technology ensure minimal distortion.
  • Versatile Connectivity: Outstanding upgrade for high-quality source components and amplifiers.
  • Durable and Reliable Design: Built to withstand everyday use, ensuring consistent performance.

Brand

AudioQuest

AudioQuest In 1978 William (Bill) Low began manufacturing custom audio cables for his new one-man hi-fi shop. Two years later, Bill got serious about making cables for the rest of the world, so in 1980, he founded AudioQuest AudioQuest becomes the first US high-performance wire company to introduce advanced conductor technology in its cables. From the “Linear Crystal” conductor of 1987 to the Perfect-Surface Metals of today, AQ remains at the forefront of conductor technology.
