The 035 preamplifier combines warm and natural sound with simple and user-friendly operation.
Its audiophile qualities owe much to its larger siblings in Burmester’s Reference and Top Line.
The signal paths to the high-quality XLR outputs are balanced and short, which contributes to an excellent sonic signature with great attention to musical and dynamic detail.
Design
Burmester’s Classic Line focuses on technical perfection for the most important things.
The 035 preamplifier embraces this in its iconic and simple design elements.
The housing is made from brushed aluminium and the front panel has been flawlessly chrome-plated, which is a signature Burmester design element to underscore timelessness and longevity of the components.
The operating controls are all chrome-plated and impress with smooth performance.
The clean and uncluttered lines of the preamp tie in with its easy and intuitive operation. Its sound quality is every bit as pleasing as its looks.
Handmade
The 035 preamplifier offers uncompromising manufacturing and sound quality.
Like all Burmester components it is assembled by hand in the Berlin factory.
It is subjected to the same rigorous selection and quality control process as the Reference Line components.

Ultimately, it was his demand for quality and his spirit of innovation that led to the formation of Burmester Audiosysteme GmbH in 1978.
Had Dieter Burmester not been so exacting and at the same time so creative, he would probably not have decided to design-engineer his own amplifier. Since he no longer considered using a hi-fi amplifier featuring tube technology, given relatively severe distortions, low damping factor compared with low-frequency membranes and rapid ageing, Burmester incorporated op-amp technology, modelled on modern measuring instruments, into his amp. Ultimately it was his high quality standards and spirit of innovation that led in 1978 to the establishment of Burmester Audiosysteme GmbH and which still form the basis of the company’s philosophy to this day. An unwillingness to compromise on the choice of components and the quality of workmanship combined with the principle of only launching a product if it represents a clear technical enhancement, compared with competitors’ products.
