Musical Fidelity X-Tube

Musical Fidelity X-Tube

The X-Tube is a revolutionary tube output buffer stage built into Musical Fidelity’s reimagined X-profile die-cast aluminium chassis.

The innovative design promises to breathe new life into a wide range of existing audio electronics from any manufacturer.

Tube (or valve) preamplifiers or output buffer stages hold a special place in the hearts of many audiophiles thanks to their distinct sonic signature.

The warmer, more natural, sound, improved dynamics, and potentially reduced listening fatigue contribute to a unique and engaging listening experience.

The Musical Fidelity X-Tube adds these characteristics to any source or pre-amplifier device that doesn’t make use of valve technology.

The X-Tube has a clean, high impedance tube input, meaning it won’t put as much strain on the output drive capabilities of connected source devices.

Regular line inputs on most amplifiers are usually more demanding, and some source device output stages will struggle.

This makes the X-Tube a great upgrade device for more affordable equipment that might offer a great user experience but that struggles to meet the highest sonic standards.

On the output side, the X-Tube’s clean, low impedance tube output buffer has plenty of drive and will not struggle with any low or high impedance amplifier input.

Internally, the circuitry makes use of two E88CC (6922) triode tubes arranged in a unique, non-traditional way.

Both valves process the entire signal in a single-ended manner.

Single-ended designs can exhibit faster transient response, meaning they can handle rapid changes in volume within the audio signal with minimal distortion.

This layout introduces a nuanced amount of harmonic flavour that adds depth and richness to the audio signal.

The X-Tube is a unique offering in the modern market and gives options to users who want an affordable way to upgrade their sound quality, without compromising on their user experience.
