Be summoned by the sound

Muso Qb

Mu-so Qb is the new compact wireless music system from the engineers behind the award-winning Mu-so.

Controlled by a powerful audio brain, Muso Qb is alive with custom-made features all designed in their audio laboratories in England.

It’s a true feat of sound engineering. From the contours of the glass-filled polymer casing to the bass radiators that help create huge low frequencies – every millimetre of space has been used to great effect.

Simple to control and easy to connect, Mu-so Qb delivers a staggering 300 watts of power that unmasks your music with a sound that defies size.

Its advanced yet simple to use connectivity includes Airplay, Bluetooth®/aptX®, Spotify Connect®, TIDAL, UPnP™ (access your stored music), Internet Radio, USB, analogue and digital inputs, Apple iOS and Android App for complete control.

You can also combine Mu-so Qb, Mu-so and other Naim streaming products for the ultimate multiroom experience. Simply sync the units to play the same song beat-for-beat in up to five rooms.

Go Deeper

Mu-so Qb is a wireless music system alive with innovation.

Every component tailored

One of the biggest design challenges with Mu-so Qb was to configure the individual speakers within the smaller cabinet.

To achieve that distinctive Naim sound, their engineers had to interrogate every component and adjust speaker angles by the smallest of fractions.

qbopen

It led them to an arrangement of five drivers, offset and angled perfectly to create a left-right dispersion asymmetry. In this arrangement are two microfibre dome tweeters and two mid drivers, all four driven by 50W amplifiers, with rare earth magnets and copper-capped poles for even greater accuracy. And for low frequencies they have installed two pistonic passive bass radiators.

qbside

These work alongside a custom-made woofer that’s driven by a 100W amplifier to create an astonishing bass sound for a system this size.

When the speakers and woofer combine, Mu-so Qb amplification can generate an incredible 300 watts.

Controlling the Muso Qb sound

At the heart of Mu-so Qb is a 32-bit digital signal processor, the same high-spec component used in the original Mu-so system.

Fine-tuned in Naim Audio’s listening room, it controls the flow of music information to each speaker, drawing on everything they have learned from designing the best in-car audio systems from Bentley motors.

It also includes two EQ settings, tailoring the best sound quality whether the unit is close to or away from the edge of any room. The end result is a refined audio experience with no distortion, increased speaker accuracy and an expansive sound that makes hairs stand on end

Take Control

Naim Audio

Naim Audio Their story begins with one man’s passion for music and weaves its way through four decades and a raft of iconic product launches to the present day. Naim Audio founder Julian Vereker MBE (1945-2000) was a racing car driver, entrepreneur and self-taught engineer with a deep passion for music. Spending his spare time listening to and recording his friends playing live in the 1960s, Julian found that playback on his system at home fell woefully short of the experience he craved. Not content with second best he decided to design his own amplifiers and loudspeakers, ignoring accepted wisdom and focusing on aspects of performance that made music burst to life. These first designs laid the foundations for a range of iconic and award-winning hi-fi products that would reach well into the next century. 1972 A first start at Capital Radio Julian won a contract to supply then start-up radio station, Capital Radio, with audio equipment. The successful design was a compact version of an early Naim Audio power amplifier combined with speaker drive units in one cabinet – the NAM 502 1973 Naim Audio Officially Founded Following the success of Capital Radio, Naim Audio was officially incorporated in 1973 with Julian Vereker and his co-founder Shirley Clarke as directors. Based in a shop in the centre of Salisbury, our first HQ had both manufacturing and demonstration facilities. 1973 The NAP 200 Power Amplifier Naim Audio's first consumer product for home use was launched in the year of our founding: the NAP 200 power amplifier. Originally designed in 1971, its descendant’s power amplifiers differ greatly technologically but still aim for the same performance goals of pace, rhythm and timing 1974 The NAC 12 Preamplifier With a network of dedicated independent retailers now on board in the UK, the NAC 12, our first production preamplifier, was launched. 1980 Classic Advertising As Naim Audio grew in popularity through the 70s and early 80s, the team decided to grab the attention of the press and public with a series of tongue-in-cheek adverts. They reflected the confident, often unorthodox nature of our approach to music playback and have become iconic in their own right. 1983 NAIT Integrated Amplifier Naim Audio’s first integrated amplifier the NAIT introduced. This iconic little integrated amp sounded quite unlike any other integrated of its day and set a trend for so-called ‘super integrateds 1985 The Queen's Award Naim Audio is recognised with the prestigious Queen’s Award for the first time in 1985. We would go on to repeat this achievement a further two times in the 21st century, winning for Export in 2010 and for Innovation in digital music streaming in 2014. 1991 The CDS CD Player Like so many Naim Audio products, the design of our first CD player, the CDS, flew in the face of conventional wisdom. Its Two-box configuration gave the power supply its own separate enclosure and the CD clamp used a rare earth magnet to keep its mass low whilst still firmly holding the disc without vibration 2000 NAP 500 Power Amplifier The year 2000 marked a step change in Naim Audio history. After several years in development, the new flagship Naim Audio NAP 500 power amplifier was born and with it the new industrial design aesthetic that would redefine Naim Audio for the 21st century. Its music-making ability would only be bettered by the arrival of Statement in 2014.
