Sabre Heritage

Sabre Heritage

For over 40 years their ethos has always been to design products that they themselves would be proud to own.

It was their founders shared passion for sound that led son Alan, and father Brian O’Rourke to form Ruark Acoustics and launch their first loudspeaker called Sabre to great acclaim in 1985.

Their latest Sabre-R speakers bring us full circle to continue this mission, with a speaker that like our original, customers will enjoy for many years to come.

Made to Be Seen

Made to be seen

In true Ruark style, their attention to detail is paramount and the Sabre-R Bookshelf Speakers are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the ear.

Hand-crafted and clad with finishes usually only found on fine furniture, the Sabre-Rs bring understated elegance to both classic and contemporary interiors.

The veneers used also have true eco credentials, where sustainable woods are skillfully spliced and recomposed to resemble slow-growing hardwoods with unique and eye-catching grain patterns.

Designed for Sound

Creating a great sounding speaker is an art that can only be mastered through years of experience.

Like a chef who can make your taste buds dance, the key is knowing the ingredients to use and how to best use them.

The cabinets for Sabre-R have been carefully tuned and optimised to provide ideal working conditions for their custom long-throw bass-mid drivers and endless hours have been spent fine tuning the crossovers, so a seamless transition between the drivers is attained.

The end result are speakers with a remarkable musical performance that breathe zest and life into every song.

Ruark Audio

Based on the South East Coast of England we are a family-owned company with an amazing passionate team.

My love of music and sound came from my Father who worked within the British audio industry during the 60s and 70s, before we formed Ruark Acoustics together in 1985. In the beginning we made loudspeaker systems for audio enthusiasts, but since 2006 we’ve applied our skills to create radios and music systems with wide ranging appeal that look and sound fabulous in any space. For our products we have three key objectives…

Mission

Our mission is to design products that appeal to the heart as much as the head. Products that we ourselves would be proud to own.

Design

Our aim is to create design icons of the future! Clean lines and proportions allied to special features such as our RotoDial control system make our products unique and instantly recognisable.

Performance & Functionality

Our goal is for class-leading performance, intuitive operation and functions that are really beneficial, rather than frivolous features that may seldom be used. Since launch, our models have become regarded as the finest available, gaining critical acclaim, including the Sunday Telegraph memorably describing our first generation R1 as ‘the Aston Martin of DAB radios’. This statement concisely describes our company ethos. Whether you’re looking for beautiful design or perfect sound, we think you’ll be impressed by what we have to offer. Also we pride ourselves on our customer service, so should you have a question or need assistance, we will always do our utmost to help.
