The antipodes KALA 21 delivers the compelling musicality that Antipodes Server-Streamers are famous for, on USB Audio output, at their most affordable price.

Every panel in the KALA 21 is precision machined from a thick solid plate of premium alloy for a perfect fit and finish, and outstanding vibration control.

Technology

The KALA 21 employs a single computer to perform both the Server and Player stages, with state-of-the-art USB signal processing.

The computer power limitations of the KALA 21 mean it can not be used for DSP or to manage libraries over about 8TB, whether on internal or external storage.

For the same reason, HQPlayer Server cannot be used on the KALA 21.

Used within its limitations, the KALA 21 will sound as pleasingly musical as a KALA 50, but the KALA 50 will add layers of musical insight to the performance on a revealing system.

Server/Player

Employing just a single computer stage limits musical insight and detail when compared to our higher-priced models, but the KALA 21 excels in dynamics, natural timbre, saturated tonal density and immersive musical expression.

Processing

The output signal is isolated, regenerated and re-clocked using a state of the art USB circuit, equivalent to the Kala 22 USB output.

Upgrade Path

Adding a KALA 41 to a KALA 21 matches the functionality and performance of the KALA 50 USB output, adding layers of musical insight compared to using just a K21, making this a very attractive upgrade option.

Made in New Zealand since 2004

Their Story

Began trading as Antipodes Audio in 2004 making high-end audio cables, based on their proprietary open-lattice gold wire and silver wire, pure unbleached cotton insulation and novel geometries that introduced a quasi-transmission-line theory.

In 2009, they began intensive research and development into computer audio, and launched their first commercial music server-streamers in 2011.

They sold their wire technology in 2015 and exited the cable market.

They moved into their current modern premises in 2020, combining all of their operations under one roof.

Today, Antipodes Audio Music Server-Streamers are distributed in over 30 countries.
