Luxman E-07

Luxman E-07

The truly innovative Luxman E-07 proudly joins LUXMAN’s formidable lineup of analogue playback components and is rightful successor to their discontinued, vacuum tube driven, EQ-500 phono stage.

The E-07 is a stylish, full-sized, solid state phono equaliser/amplifier, inspired by the all-tube EQ-500 and their E-250, LUXMAN’s compact standard model, both renowned for excellent audio quality and ease of use, both having high-end appeal.

In order to amplify the intricate music signals stamped into the grooves of analogue records optimally and accurately, the cartridge’s current generation principle and impedance must be accounted for.

Front and rear panel selector switches offer the listener six preferred impedance settings from 4.7Ω to 1kΩ for MC cartridges and four impedance settings from 34kΩto 100kΩ for MM cartridges.

Their state-of-the-art step-up transformers, designed specifically for use with MC cartridges, feature a super permalloy core and support balanced inputs, confidently handling delicate moving coil output signals with no loss of energy.

Luxman have configured the unit with four independent transformers dedicated to left and right channels at low or high input gain levels.

The amplifier circuitry is based on RIAA-standard equalising curves, with premium NF-type transistors that achieve a very low noise floor, yielding a very high S/N ratio, Quadarupole-paralleled first stage FETs and our carefully selected, custom made components offer supreme reproduction while remaining true to RIAA standard.

The Luxman E-07 also exhibits superb power supply parameters, separating peripheral power circuitry for the screen, indicators and relays from the left and right channel audio amplifier blocks.

Having three independent power transformers means that load fluctuations in each independent circuit block never affect the others.

Indeed, the E-07 is their latest reference grade product, able to reproduce a rich sound filed and vivid tones, bringing out true realism in their ongoing pursuit of premium performance and functionality, raising the standard for listeners’ immersive analogue playback experience.

Functions input/output

Luxman phono stage

– Supports balanced connections for MC cartridges via XLR input terminals

– Equipped with one pair of balanced (XLR) and two pairs of unbalanced (RCA) input terminals, enabling connections to three separate analogue players

– Large, independent, gold-plated brass chassis grounding terminal for each input

– One pair of balanced (XLR) and two pairs of unbalanced (RCA) output terminals connection to various amplifier equipment

– Load impedance selector switch optimal selection according to the impedance of the desired cartridge

(MM [rear]: 34kΩ/47kΩ/56kΩ/100kΩ, MC[front]: 4.7Ω/10Ω/40Ω/100Ω/300Ω/1kΩ)

– Load capacitance selector switch also allows appropriate handling according to the characteristics of the desired MM cartridge ([rear]:0pF/100pF/220pF/320pF)

– Low-cut switch to eliminates unwanted low-frequency components often generated by warped vinyl records

– Convenient mono mode switch, useful for playing mono recordings

– Articulator function enables the demagnetisation of cartridges and MC transformers whilst still processing the input signal current

Electrical circuit

– RIAA curve-compatible, NF-type phono equalizer/amplifier circuitry achieves impressively low noise due to quadruple-paralleled first stage FETs

– New MC step-up transformers made with super permalloy cores, independent for left and right channels at low or high gain

– Dedicated, large-capacity, OI-type power transformers, independent for left and right channels and peripheral circuitry

– Highly regulated power supply with dedicated, custom made filter capacitors and discrete regulating circuitry

– New ground connection structure PGS* adopted to improve the transmission stability of circuits that handle small signals

*PGS (Petal-shaped Ground Supply): An internal grounding network of radially connected, ultra-low impedance paths to ground of equal length, providing accurate signal reference points for each individual circuit block over extremely thick, crafted copper plate

– Non-angled circuit board tracing takes into consideration the flow of delicate audio signal voltages and realises very smooth current transmission

Chassis/ Accessories

– A slender, stylish chassis, matching the footprint of a control amplifier or integrated amplifier

– Beautiful blasted white front panel finish, multiple selector switches and a slim status screen creates an impressive look for this product

– A loopless chassis structure that efficiently shields the power supply and amplifier sections tightly shields the power supply and amplifier sections and suppresses rising ground impedance from chassis current fluctuations

– An extremely thick steel plate chassis base (2 sheets, total thickness 3.6mm) which contributes to an increased ground mass and improves chassis rigidity

– Cast iron insulator feet, making practical use of density gradient to suppress unwanted vibrations during playback

– Gold-plated AC inlet, inverted mounting also allows the terminal body to support the heavy IEC cable

Brand

Luxman

The history of the LUXMAN audio brand began in 1925, at the birth of radio broadcasting. LUXMAN has paid particular attention to the world of audio and has gained high reputation as a quality brand of high-end audio products both domestically and internationally. People tend to open their mind to natural things and react negatively to the unnatural. Natural sound, without coloration, develops an intimacy between the music and the listener. Naturally and purely reproduced music resonates with the listener’s imagination. LUXMAN reflects this effect in our product development. Music that features a performer's true passion and which a recording engineer has worked on precisely benefits from the fine nuances in sound which LUXMAN aims to reproduce, conveying the sprit of the artist and the enthusiasm of the performance. They strive to bring to the listener the experience of unlimited, pure music. Composers, performers and recording engineers have poured their true feelings into our favorite pieces of music. LUXMAN would be satisfied if the listener could experience those same passions through our products. LUXMAN has celebrated its 90th anniversary and hopes to discover new excitement through wonderful music and to continue to share that pleasure with everyone.
