Trilogy 995R

Trilogy 995R

The 995R is Trilogy Audio Systems much anticipated mono power amplifiers, finally brought to fruition after four years of research.

Dedication that is evident in all Trilogy family products.

Truly monolithic and architectural in form with details such as machined fins optimised to dissipate heat by clever design via massive radiation surfaces.

995R Top

The considered form is only equalled by its uncompromised internal design.

As many Trilogy products that harness the strengths of both worlds, the 995R is a hybrid machine.

These units via a discrete selector button are able to be cycled through three modes, class AB, A and eco A.

The last mode behaving as class A whilst when the music is playing, however transistor bias is significantly decreased to reduce power draw if there’s no signal present this is both stable and has the advantage of the minimum of performance sacrificed.

The unit measures (W x D x H) 190 x 460 x 350mm and weighs 38 kilograms which reflects its thorough design rationale.

Class AB delivers 200W into 8Ω, Class A mode outputs 40W (usable 55W) with the same load.

Frequency response is 5Hz – 100KHz (+/-0.5dB) and gain on SE/balanced inputs is respectively 31 and 25dB.

Trilogy 995R is not just beautiful on the surface.

The circuit has no feedback, is fully balanced and also features a bridged output stage.

Its hybrid topology involves two 6H6P valves as voltage amplifiers, whereas small linear MOSFETs on duty with 12 Japanese Bipolars form the product’s push-pull compound stage.

The PSU based on a large shielded toroidal transformer and custom caps enjoys full choke input supply.

Mono Detail

Featured is Trilogy’s proprietary TASlink network which the owner may choose to utilise based RJ45 sockets allowing connected Trilogy products to communicate and extend functionality across the system, providing details such as run time, or scheduled operation features accessed via TASlink enabled Preamplifiers.

Once again Trilogy has made a product that defies aesthetic convention and made a compact mono power amplifier with truly arresting performance.

Statement amplifiers from a true British Independent.

Reviews have stated the 915R /995R Pre/Power combination to be the very best of their kind.

THE TRILOGY ETHOS

Trilogy Ethos From a passion to remain true to the essence of music, and by keeping all the key design elements in harmony, they create products of true quality. Look at the objects around you in your home or work place; the chances are much of what you see is the end result of derivative thinking. By bringing a small improvement to what already exists; a commercial niche is filled and a small advantage over your competitors is gained. They at Trilogy Audio Systems do things differently.
Nic Poulson is the principal designer of all Trilogy Audio Systems products. Nic's background was originally in broadcast engineering, training with the BBC in the eighties. The corporation's legendary high standards made a deep impression on him. He learned that the way to achieve true quality is to strive for excellence in every area and accept nothing less. He went on to found Trilogy in 1990 and quickly earned a reputation for producing designs that reflected his core values of performance, reliability, pride of ownership and value for money.
